How long is the program?
The program is for 2 years where participants will be in the classroom for 9 weeks and then work at paid internship for the next 9 weeks of 2 cycles.
Is the training program free?
Yes, the training program is free to those who are eligible for our Veteran Employment-Related Assistance Program grant. (Please see flyer).
What are the start dates for each program?
The start dates are: GM (Start October 18, 2010); Chrysler (Start October 18, 2010); Ford (Start January 10, 2011); and Import (Start March 14, 2011). Once accepted into the program, participants must also enroll it Cerritos College or they will not be able to start the program.
How many slots are available for the GM and Chrysler program?
There are limited spots for these programs and participants will be waitlisted for October. But if participants cannot enter the October classes, they will be placed first in Ford or Import.
How much is training?
Tuition, tools, and books will approximately cost $4,000 for the whole 2 years. Training costs are covered through WIA funds.
Am I guaranteed a job?
No, guaranteed jobs are for those who successfully complete the program and those who make a good impression with the employers during their internship.
