Wilmington Empowerment Project

Wilmington Empowerment Project (WEP) is a placed-based strategy for community empowerment and change.  The mission of the project is to impact Wilmington in three primary areas: Educational outcome, economic development, and basic needs/family well-being.  WEP is an asset-based community organizing model that engages and empowers residents to leverage their strengths and talents to change their neighborhoods and community institutions.

Program Goals:

  • Increase youth and parent Neighborhood Action Councils (NACs)
  • Increase families economic stability opportunities
  • Develop community and business partnerships
  • Support youth leadership and development
